An interesting photo appeared in the Hergüner Zeitung, the media organ of the MHP before 1980, on March 26, 1978. He gave the photo news on the inside pages of the daily newspaper “Three people caught who housed anarchists”. One of these three people was the author Cengiz Özakıncı, who wrote many books. According to Hergün’s claim, TİKKO fighters who robbed a bank in Suadiye on September 8 hid in the homes of Cengiz Özakıncı, Müslim Şip and Atilla Başar and were arrested for this reason.
“I AM ACQUIRED FROM THIS EVENT”
Cengiz Özakıncı, whose photo we asked for his story, said: “I was acquitted because I had nothing to do with this incident. Back then, they took what they saw on the street and arrested them.”
Cengiz Özakıncı, who stated that he did not know Müslim Şip, who was imprisoned with him, also said that he did not know Atilla Başar: “I do not know these people, I do not live with these people in the same house. MHP Hergün newspaper tried to convey the image of a cell house, but stop sharing the same house with these people, we have no acquaintance, no,” he said.
HE WAS IMPRISONED FOR 5 YEARS ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES
Cengiz Özakıncı, who can be seen in the photo on the far right, was arrested in 1979 and sentenced to five years in prison, not for this incident that Hergün claims, but for the articles and statements he wrote. Cengiz Özakıncı, who accelerated his research after his release from prison, wrote research books on many important subjects, especially the relationship between Islamic civilization, language and science.
