Agah Özgüç was buried in the Şakirin Mosque in the Karacaahmet Cemetery after the funeral prayers in the afternoon. Many names from the world of culture and art, as well as Özgüç’s family, attended the funeral.

Agah Özgüç’s daughter Cansel Özgüç said in a statement that she deeply felt the sorrow at the loss of her father and that her death was sudden despite her advanced age.

Pointing out that her father has a very important archive of Turkish cinema, Cansel Özgüç said: “We have been very close for the past four years. We saw each other every day. Turkish cinema has lost a very important value. Because everyone asked him for a document when they needed a document, he was also willing to help: “May God have mercy on him, may his place be heaven,” he said.

Yavuz Karakaş, one of the actors of Yeşilçam, also stated that Agah Özgüç helped him a lot in the cinema, saying: “He always greeted us with his sweet language and smiling face. He published the interviews he conducted with me in Ses Magazine. .

Yavuz Karakaş said that Özgüç wrote the history of Turkish cinema and Yeşilçam and collected a huge archive, adding that he owes the existence of actors who worked for Yeşilçam like him to Agah Özgüç.
