  • Even the gods are helpless against folly.
  • Books are lighthouses erected in the great sea of time.
  • We have changed our environment so much that we now have to change ourselves to fit into this new environment. N.Wiener
  • Medicine cannot attain complete scientific certainty unless it touches upon the problems of social pathology and mental disorders. A medicine that adheres solely to an understanding of the mechanisms of the human body will soon be as anachronistic as the charioteer’s equipment and the nineteenth-century physician’s golden-headed cane. Prof. René Dubos

I met Nüvit Osmay through her book Human Engineering, I am talking about Nüvit Osmay who brought personal development to Turkey and raised doyens like Mümin Sekman. This book was a wonderful mine of information about human relationships, but The Mind Atlas was a complete failure for me because when I first got it I started reading words from random pages. What I was looking for in the book were motivational phrases and doping materials that would lead me to wisdom. – I bought the book once, he said to give him his place… So I put it on my head. Every morning I started the day by reading a page or two. I saw that other mornings my consciousness began to insist that sleep is more childish to not read the book. This time I got angry and read the book. I took it in my hand and started reading all the words like a man. (SamedÇ)

It is a compilation where you can find collected the words of many thinkers… You can find many aphorisms to think about… I also recommend the book on human engineering by the same author (The gifts)

Who is the author of the book Nuvit Osmay?

He was born in Istanbul in 1910. He studied mechanical engineering in Germany. He specialized in welding technology. According to the project drawn by Nüvit Osmay at the end of this specialization, the “only training center for welders in Turkey” was set up in Eskişehir Cer’s workshop. Hundreds of welders came from here. This is the work he is most proud of.

Osmay, who was a mechanical engineer with the state railways for 37 years, was also the head of human resources and a member of the board of directors.

In 1969 he retired. Until 1980 he was editor of the journal Science and Technique published by the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey, nicknamed TUBITAK. He increased the circulation of the magazine from 15,000 to 95,000.

Nüvit Osmay, who says: “What makes a person human is the knowledge after school”, is the DKD speaker course (thinking, speaking, listening), which he launched in 1964 in the headquarters of the community center. In America she met the famous “Winning A Friend” author Dale Carnegie, attended all his courses there and successfully earned a teacher’s certificate. DKD is a product of these studies.

Dedicated to educating people at every stage of her life, Nüvit Osmay’s greatest wish is for DKD to spread across the country. Because DKD teaches to unite in minimal human relationships, to speak well in front of society, which is a great need of society, to think logically, to tolerance, mutual love, respect and friendship.

Nüvit Osmay, who speaks German, English and French, has two daughters and one grandchild.
